TEHRAN – Iranian Acting Foreign Minister Ali Baqeri Kani has reaffirmed Iran's solidarity with the Yemeni people and their resistance against Israeli actions.

His comments came on Monday during a phone call with Mohammed Abdul-Salam, the spokesperson for Yemen’s Ansarullah Resistance movement.

Baqeri Kani condemned the Israeli airstrike on Saturday that targeted civilian facilities in the Red Sea port of al-Hudaydah, resulting in six deaths and 83 injuries, many with severe burns. He highlighted the "historic" support of the Yemeni nation and Resistance fighters for the oppressed Palestinians in Gaza, calling it a "source of pride for the Muslim Ummah."

He emphasized that the resilience of the people of Gaza, Yemen's pro-Palestinian initiative, and Iran’s April retaliatory operation against Israel have collectively contributed to the "strategic failure" of the Israeli regime during its ongoing conflict in Gaza. 

Yemeni forces have been targeting occupied Palestinian territories and Israeli-affiliated ships since October 7, responding to Israel's assault on Gaza, which has killed over 39,000 Palestinians.

Baqeri Kani noted that Yemen's forces have vowed to continue their operations as long as Israel maintains its offensive and siege against Gaza. He referenced Iran’s April 13 operation, "True Promise," in which Iran launched over 300 drones and missiles at Israeli military bases. This was in retaliation for Israel's killing of seven IRGC military advisors in Damascus.

Abdul-Salam expressed gratitude to Tehran for its support following the Hudaydah attack, interpreting the Israeli aggression as evidence of the regime’s "desperate failure and helplessness." He underscored that the Palestinian cause is central to the entire Muslim Ummah and appreciated Iran's ongoing support for both Palestinians and Yemenis in their struggles against Zionist aggression.

Iran denounces shooting incident in Oman, blames Israel for regional instability

In another conversation, Baqeri Kani condemned a recent shooting in Oman during a phone call with Omani Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi. 

He stated that Tehran views any anti-security measures in neighboring countries as threats to regional stability. Baqeri Kani blamed Israel for ongoing regional insecurity, citing its continued aggression in Gaza and Yemen.

Al Busaidi thanked Iran for its solidarity following the shooting in Oman and detailed Muscat's swift response to the incident. He reiterated Oman's firm support for the Palestinians and condemned the crimes of the Zionist regime, which he said have exacerbated regional tensions.
